Pleasantly sardonic homage tot he romantic rebels of the 1960s. The provocative Easy Rider clashes with the Estonian authorities: the hedonistic romantic Fred, who has just been fired as a film critic, makes no attempt to appease the system. Radical and enchanting.
In his 20s, the always sombre, chain-smoking Fred has a Holden Caulfield-like disdain for the superficial world ruled by parents and bosses, and spends the entire film on the run from his responsibilities. For instance, upon being told his girlfriend Susanna is pregnant, he runs off with an old flame. Later on, when Susanna responds indifferently to his provocative poetry, he half drowns her in the bathtub.
