Beautiful, involving portrait of an isolated gaucho community om the north-west of Argentina that focuses on the intimate relationships the gauchos have with their horses, the livestock and the land. Traditions are passed down and the modern world is kept at bay as much as possible.
During the 1970s, many a fashion designer was inspired by the ‘gaucho look’: long leather skirts, boots, coloured ponchos, broad leather belts with silver decorations and broad-brimmed hats. Nowadays, there is less attention to the South American equivalent of the cowboy: the Argentine gaucho leads an isolated existence trying to maintain traditional values in a rapidly digitising world.
