The latest film from Veit Helmer (Tuvalu, Absurdistan) is a lightly surreal love story. Two female conductors on a cable car that runs between two mountain villages in Georgia see one another every day from their gondolas, and flirt with each other. Without dialogue, with stunning images.
A cable car links a village in the mountains of Georgia to a small town in the valley below. New employee Iva is trained by her colleague Nino; the pair then see one another every half hour, as their gondolas cross. Over time, a friendship blossoms between the two women, then develops into a – literally – unspoken love.
