Seventeen-year-old Sam goes backpacking with her father and his friend Matt. The men, both divorced, mainly discuss their own cares – are they paying any attention to Sam? India Donaldson’s feature debut – a subtle portrait of a father-daughter relationship – premièred at the Sundance Film Festival.
Another teenager should have gone along on the hike through the Catskill Mountains, but it turns out that Sam is the only young person in the group. Matt is amiable and funny, and Sam has a close relationship with her father, Chris; nothing seems to stand in the way of a relaxing trip into nature.

Before Good One you will see the short film (5') Aurora (2019) by Bart Dokter. Aurora and her father have a special bond with Iceland and especially the Northern Lights that can be seen there. This bond is the reason that they want to see the Northern Lights together one last time. However, father carries a burden that seems to become increasingly heavier as the journey progresses.
