Posters of Hitler appear all over Berlin, people can sense the imminent violent upheaval. When Anna’s father, a Jewish journalist, disappears and the family is forced to suddenly flee, Anna realises her life will never be the same again. From now on she will be a refugee who learns new languages and makes new friends.

Anna is too busy with school and friends to realise her world is about to collapse. When Anna is forced to flee Berlin in 1933, the nine-year old forgets her stuffed toy. A pink bunny rabbit. While her father, a journalist critical of the Nazi party, fears for his family’s safety after Adolf Hitler is elected, all Anna can think of is her worn stuffed toy.
