Home Game
Lidija Zelovic / NL, 2024 / 98 min.
(Self)portrait and essay by filmmaker Lidija Zelovic about the classic migrant question: ‘What constitutes home?’ Zelovic and her family fled the Yugoslav Wars in 1993 ending up in the Netherlands, a country since gripped by right-wing populism.

Idiosyncratic filmmaker Lidija Zelovic has been portraying her displaced family in the Netherlands, where they fled from war-torn Sarajevo, since in 1993.
In Home Game Zelovic focuses on the duality which all migrants live in, which can be condensed into the question: ‘What constitutes home?’ To what extent can you still call the country you left long ago home? And to what extent do you feel at home in the country you fled to?
