Dita lives with her girlfriend, her friend’s two daughters and a queer community in the northern Macedonian city of Skopje in this tender dramedy about families – those we are born into and those we choose.
Dita (Anamaria Marinca, known for her role in 4 maanden, 3 weken en 2 dagen) never wanted to be a mother, however circumstances force her to take care of her friend’s two daughters: the young whirlwind Mia and the rebellious teem Vanesa. There is plenty of conflict between the three strong personalities, but against all odds they develop into a tight-knit family that has to fight to stay together.
