Swedish director Ernst De Geer’s first feature is a caustic, hilarious satire on the millennial generation. Entrepreneurial couple Vera and André are learning to pitch from business guru Julian; Vera, who’s addicted to smoking, first tries hypnotherapy, with disruptive results.
Things seem to be going well for young entrepreneurs André and Vera. Brimming with ambition and self-confidence, the couple develop an app geared specially to women’s health – still an untapped market at this point. It looks like a glowing commercial future awaits them.
Preliminary film
Before the screening of Hypnosen, you will see the short film Kutleven (7') from 2020 by Isis Cabolet from our Korte Film Poule. When thirtysomething Madelief returns from a world trip, she finds her cat dead in the tilting window. When she listens to the messages on her answering machine, she suddenly loses all the strength she had gathered on holiday. She would prefer to disappear, not think about anything and, above all, not feel anything.
