In his live concert datamatics [ver.2.0], Ikeda lets us see and hear how data form our understanding of the world. For this performance, he projects computer-generated images, software codes and patterns derived from hard disk glitches to create abstractions of matter, time and space that meander between science and philosophy. He concludes the show with spectacular, four-dimensional geometric visualizations that seem to open up infinite vistas. The hypnotic soundtrack likewise evokes a limitless acoustic space. This concert forms part of his datamatics project, which explores the boundaries of perception and lets us experience what goes beyond our comprehension.
This performance takes place in collaboration with Eye Filmmuseum and Amsterdam Art Weekend.
