Belgian filmmaker Paloma Sermon-Daï immediately made an impression with her debut film Il pleut dans la maison, which operates somewhere between documentary and fiction. Under a burning summer sun, seventeen-year-old Purdey and her fifteen-year-old brother Makenzy are left to fend for themselves. Swaying between carefree adolescence and the responsibilities of adulthood, Purdey works as a cleaner in a holiday park and Makenzy makes some money stealing from tourists. In what turns out to be the last summer of their youth, they have to look out for one another.
