Imagine Filmconcert - Frankenstein

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley”s book Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus. The book was adapted for the screen numerous times, but James Whale”s 1931 version has proved to be indestructible. The film, in which scientist Henry Frankenstein brings a creature back to life while accidentally using the brain of a criminal, was a big hit upon its release. The mask of Boris Karloff”s monster, created by Jack Pierce, can be found on posters, mugs and t-shirts and thus became part of our collective memory. In honour of the bicentenary, Imagine is hosting a very special film concert. The classic will be brought to life again with musical accompaniment by Kevin Toma and live sound effects by foley artist Ronnie van der Veer.
