Is the forest always as eco-friendly as we think? Not if it is up to director Ben Wheatly, who makes botanist Martin trip on elderberry juice through nature – a somewhat modest description of the psychedelic experience known as In the Earth.
What is real? What is hallucination? Where does pagan mythology supersede cold, rational science? These are the quandaries botanist Martin scarcely has time for while on expedition to the forest his colleague Dr Wendell disappeared in.
