Just 6.5
Saeed Roustayi / IR, 2019 / 131 min.
An explosive, incisive Iranian film that takes us right to the heart of a massive police investigation into drugs mogul Nasser. Accompanies Saeed Roustayi’s latest film, Leila’s Brothers.
Saeed Roustayi’s second film takes a deep dive into a drug-infested underworld. Through 'good-bad cop' Samad, the film paints a caustic picture of Iran and its 6.5 million drugs users.
Nasser is caught and convicted, but along the way Samad realises that Nasser has ended up on this criminal path because of the abysmal, poverty stricken circumstances in which his family find themselves. There’s always another side to the story. This sobering film shows the impotence of the law when it comes to turning the tide of drug addiction through raids, arrests and executions.
