Magical coming-of-age film about Meissy (11), who believes that her drifter father just has a very rich imaginative life. But then she finds out that he also sees really crazy things, and that not all of them are good.
Eleven-year-old Meissy is overjoyed when, after years of travelling, her father Tom is finally coming home; but her mother forbids her to have anything to do with him. Is it because he’s a drifter? During secret visits to Tom, Meissy is enchanted by his colourful life on the road, full of imagination, origami cranes and exceptional encounters.
