Four people meet around a swimming pool at a luxury villa in Saint-Tropez. Lovers Marianne (Romy Schneider) and Jean-Paul (Alain Delon) get a visit from Harry, Marianne's ex-lover, and his young, attractive daughter Penelope (Jane Birkin). When Jean-Paul takes an interest in Penelope, everything goes wrong.
La piscine is screened to accompany the premiere of 3 Days in Quiberon, a reconstruction of an infamous interview with Romy Schneider for the magazine Stern.
