Scriptwriter Paul Javal is working on an honourable assignment, an adaptation of Homer’s Odysseus to be shot at Cinecittà for the great Fritz Lang (played by Fritz Lang). After a misunderstanding with his wife Camilla, Paul ends their relationship and her love for him turns to contempt. When he finally dares to ask his ex-wife why she stopped loving him, she simply answers: “C'est la vie”.
