Leiden University: Please Hold

Research Labs 2022

Some of the most important periods in our lives are the periods where nothing of importance is happening. In ‘Please Hold’ the theatre is transformed into a waiting room, featuring films that reflect on periods of waiting and transition.

poster Research Labs 2022
We spend hours, weeks, months, years just waiting for the perfect alignment of all circumstances and never witness its presence.. Waiting for a train that will inevitably be delayed. Waiting for a phone call that will turn things upside down. Waiting to say those right words but staying silent. Waiting for the pandemic to finally end.

In ‘Please Hold’ we transform the theater into a waiting room, featuring films that reflect on periods of waiting and transition. We explore the feelings of anticipation, uncertainty and boredom one might feel in these periods and invite you to join us in this waiting game.

Students: Elina Lipska, Noah Rook and Caitlyn Dijkxhoorn.
