Steve Zissou (Bill Murray in superb shape) is a world-renowned oceanographer who sails the world’s seas like a modern Jacques Cousteau in search of new maritime animals and wild adventures. To mark the Dutch premiere of While We’re Young, EYE is screening a number of films made with the involvement of New York director Noah Baumbach.
Deep-sea researcher Steve Zissou sets out on a new expedition to hunt for the mysterious, elusive, and possibly legendary Jaguar Shark that killed Zissou”s partner while they were shooting their last adventure. He is accompanied by a slightly offbeat crew that includes a pilot who claims he is Zissou”s son, a pregnant journalist, a jealous German sidekick and a Brazilian singer-guitarist with a thing about David Bowie. With Owen Wilson, Cate Blanchett, Anjelica Huston, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum.
Noah Baumbach and Wes Anderson together wrote the exceptional and highly original screenplay that has the audience falling from one surprise into the next. To mark the Dutch premiere of While We”re Young, EYE is screening earlier films by New York filmmaker Noah Baumbach.
