Social worker Sylvia leads an orderly, structured life. She divides her time between her daughter and AA meetings in New York, where she helps people with psychiatric conditions. This life is turned upside down when, following their high school reunion, Saul follows her home. The next morning, she finds him outside, soaking wet and freezing. This unexpected reunion has a great impact on both of their lives, and pushes the door to the past wide open.
