Multus #2: Dance on Piano
Video installation: Tomoko MukaiyamaEngineering: Yoshihiro Yoshida and Johan KokProduction: Tomoko Mukaiyama Foundation

The audience is seated amidst screens filled with J.C. Moll”s images of flowers opening and crystals growing. The screens provide the backdrop for a powerful arrangement of Le Sacre du Printemps, Igor Stravinsky”s pioneering work evoking the ghosts of an untamed primordial Russia. Mukaiyama and Bouwhuis will also perform two low-keyed pieces, Experiences 1 by John Cage and Socrate, drame symphonique and 3 parties by Erik Satie, in an arrangement for two pianos by Cage. The audience is swept away by the various rhythms of film and music that sometimes accompany each other, and at other times expressly not.
Also made possible by Bart Boogaard Piano Services.
