My Brother's Wedding
Charles Burnett / US, 1983 / 81 min.
Charles Burnett’s classic L.A. Rebellion film follows Pierce, a young man roaming Los Angeles in search of a purpose in life. Poignant, funny and true. Screening in a new 4K-restored version.

South Central LA, in the early eighties. Pierce Mundy works in his parents’ dry-cleaning business and has few prospects. Most of his old friends are either in prison, or dead. Unlike his brother, who is engaged to be married to a haughty female lawyer, Pierce has no ambition – and this drives his mother, in particular, to distraction. As his best friend gets released from jail and his brother is busy preparing for his big wedding day, Pierce tries to decide what he really wants in life.
