Programme

  • Still Koki Ciao Quenton Miller NL 2025

Koki, Ciao (Quenton Miller, NL 2025, 11’)

Co-written, narrated, and featuring sound effects by Koki, a 67 year old speaking cockatoo owned by Tito, this experimental documentary features footage and images from state archives of Koki, Tito, Khrushchev, Sukarno, and Sophia Loren.

  • Still Imagine Me Like a Country of Love Thana Faroq NL YE QA 2026

Imagine Me Like a Country of Love (Thana Faroq, NL/YE/QA 2026, 20’)

A fragmented, poetic short film about memory, belonging, and the return to a place reshaped by conflict. Shot between Yemen and the Netherlands, the film contemplates what happens when we disturb the memories we left behind. Through archival photographs, everyday footage, and intimate voice recordings, it offers a quiet reflection on grief, absence, and the contradictions of remembering.

  • Still How to Dance Aileen Ye NL GB 2026

How to Dance (Aileen Ye, NL/GB 2026, 9’)

Bodies cannot speak freely under surveillance. So the question is, what can the body speak? How to Dance searches for forms of expression that exist beyond the verbal, asking what kinds of truths, refusals, and desires can be conveyed through the physical.

  • Still Happiness Firat Yücel NL 2025

    Happiness (Firat Yücel, NL/TR 2025, 18’)

Assembled from stories about sleep disorders, Happiness is a desktop diary that reflects the state of mind of a hypothetical person residing in Amsterdam, watching the horrors of our time on a computer/phone screen.

  • Still A Patriot of these Woods Karel Doing GB NL 2025

A Patriot of these Woods (Karel Doing, GB/NL 2025, 10’)

Inspired by the novel The Baron in the Trees by Italo Calvino, filmmaker Karel Doing places himself as the protagonist of this escapade into unseen ecologies. The secret medicinal properties of plants are shared, along with their peculiar characteristics. Trees, leaves, flowers and soil all come to life in Doing’s signature “phytographic” technique.

  • Still Flutura Astrit Ismaili NL 2025

Flutura (Astrit Ismaili, NL 2025, 7’)

Flutura reimagines ancestral Kosovo women’s tools as futuristic body-extension tech. Inspired by the tradition Kange me Tepsi, where singing into spinning pans turns utensils into sonic devices, the film explores early analog voice processing and redefines the body as a living interface for emerging technologies.
