A team of older Ukrainian cheerleaders cling to their friendship whilst each dealing with the trauma of war in their own way.
'Nice Ladies', the charming over-50’s cheerleading team from Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine is preparing to take part in the European cheerleading championships. There they will have to battle their younger competitors in the over-25 category. Their unbreakable bond is sorely tested by the escalation of Russia’s war against their home country. They face the impossible task of choosing between the motherland and becoming a granny, between staying and fleeing.
