Today a special film composers’ edition of Badlands with the classically trained Nikolaï Clavier and the more synth-oriented Tessa Rose Jackson. This edition came about in close cooperation with Buma Music in Motion.

Who are the filmmakers of the future? New talents about their work, inspirations, dreams and ideals. Today, two composers and Under the Skin (Jonathan Glazer, 2013), chosen by Nikolaï Clavier and Tessa Rose Jackson.
Nikolaï Clavier (1989) is an award-winning composer and viola player. He graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with a Master Film Score and a Master of Music from Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. As a composer with a classical background he has also written scores for 18 short films, 6 commercials, two feature films and a video game. Besides being a film composer, Clavier also plays viola in the much lauded Arthema String Quartet.
Tessa Rose Jackson is a composer, producer, songwriter and artist who creates and releases her own music and art under the moniker ‘Someone’. As a film composer she enjoys sculpting the musical landscape the narratives are set in. She is also a filmmaker who is inspired by David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Greta Gerwig, Paul Thomas Anderson, Charlie Kaufman and the Coen Brothers. Jackson has been working as a composer for 11 years now. Her music has also been heard in series including HBO’s New Girl and Netflix’s Dear White People.
