Play trailer

Jafar Panahi / IR, 2022 / 106 min.

A director has a challenging time when his cast mutinies and the whole village turns against him. Iranian director Jafar Panahi, who last year saw his professional ban converted into a prison sentence, plays a breathtaking game with fiction and reality.

poster No Bears (Jafar Panahi, IR 2022)
In a small Turkish town on the border with Iran an Iranian couple tries to flee to the West. Their story is a film in film which is directed from a laptop and with the aid of an assistant from an Iranian border village by Jafar Panahi, who plays himself as he did in his previous films. Whilst intermittent Wi-Fi makes directing an exhausting chore, Panahi also manages to land himself in hot water in his temporary location.
