One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

Randle P. McMurphy (Nicholson) has himself declared insane to escape a prison sentence. But it turns out he’s even worse off when he’s sent to a psychiatric institution for an indefinite period. He tries to shake the regime up with jokes and games, even managing to get 'deaf mute' Chief Broom to speak. When dictatorial Nurse Ratched (Louise Fletcher) fights back, died-in-the-wool provocateur McMurphy incites the patients to rise up.
