Petrov's Flu
Kirill Serebrennikov / RU, 2021 / 146 min.
Russian filmmaker and theatre director Kirill Serebrennikov returns after almost two years of house arrest with an anarchic ‘day in the life’ of flu-ridden comic book artist Petrov and his family. Petrov’s Flu is a wild mix of fantasy, parody and biting social commentary on post-Soviet Russia.
Serebrennikov was placed under house arrest in 2019, accused of embezzling funds from the production of Leto, his feature film about Leningrad’s 1980s underground music scene.
