Rain
Mark Limburg / NL, 2024 / 73 min.
Documentary mosaic that attempts to capture the essence of rain by revealing its many and various 'faces': rain as a problem, as a seductress, a killer, an instrument for composition, and as a god.

Rain puts us in our place. Reveals the beauty of nature and shows us, time and again, how insignificant we really are. Yet this same rain is seen very differently in different parts of the world. Five aspects of rain are brought to life in five stories from five completely different cultures and points of view: from Catania on Sicily and Kannauj in Northern India to the flooded German city of Altenahr and Thailand.
This documentary mosaic attempts to capture the essence of rain by showing its different 'faces': rain as something annoying, as a seducer, a murderer, a ghost and as God.
