Reijseger Fraanje Sylla: Soundtrack for the Soul

Unique performance by Ernst Reijseger (cello), Harmen Fraanje (keyboards) and Mola Sylla (vocals). Reijseger has made music for many of Herzog’s films over the past 20 years. Tonight, especially for Eye, a brand new soundtrack has been created for a compilation of scenes from Herzog productions that inspired him.

These scenes make a great collection for a so-called reverse presentation: a concert accompanied by film. Reijseger, Fraanje and Sylla thereby use the historic cinema organ that’s part of Eye's Cinema 1. Ernst Reijseger regularly invited Fraanje & Sylla to help out with his cooperations with Werner Herzog. Reijseger wrote the music for films including The White Diamond, The Wild Blue Yonder, My Son My Son What Have Ye Done, Cave of Forgotten Dreams and Family Romance, LLC.

Werner Herzog

Eye Filmmuseum presents an exhibition and extensive film programme around the work of celebrated filmmaker Werner Herzog. With an unorthodox oeuvre of more than seventy features, documentaries and shorts, Herzog has fascinated audiences with unforgettable stories, images and characters for more than half a century. His films grant us insights into the relationship between people and the chaotic world around them, as well as into the endless indifference of nature towards human life.
