Programme

  • still Three Windows on South West (Mariia Ponomarova, 2023)

Three Windows on South West (Mariia Ponomarova, 2023, 9’)

Three windows face south-west and a balcony faces south-east. It’s Mariia’s apartment in Kyiv. Through three phone calls, Mariia attempts to reclaim her home, and the view.

  • still Lake Bottom Cinema (Vita Soul Wilmering, 2023)

Lake Bottom Cinema (Vita Soul Wilmering, 2023, 25’)

An open air cinema on the dried-up bottom of a lake in Bosnia and Herzegovina opens a window to a silent past. Through an associative collage of amateur tourist films and a fisherman's astute reflections on souvenirs of communist Yugoslavia, archival images bring colour to the landscape.

  • still Blind Men (Vibeke Mascini, 2023)

Blind Men (Vibeke Mascini, 2023, 11’)

Blind Men provides an intimate glimpse into a sterile necropsy room in which a beached whale is presented for pathological examination. The limits of human perception are intently demonstrated by depicting a tender and fragmented image of the enigmatic whale body.

  • still Metabolism (Misho Antadze, 2023)

    Metabolism (Misho Antadze, 2023, 12’)

A wrily contemplative observation of robots laboring on a cow farm, in a restaurant, and at home. A document of our changing relationship with technology, and the latest stage of consumption-oriented industrialization.
