The latest thriller by director Dominik Moll. In this French whodunnit, ‘like Fargo remixed with Babel’ (Hollywood Reporter), a disappearance gives rise to a series of bizarre events.
On the surface, Alice (Laure Calamy), a social worker, and her husband, cattle farmer Michel (Denis Ménochet) appear to be your average unhappily married couple. Alice is having an affair and Michel is working all hours. When their neighbour Evelyne disappears and her car is found on a deserted road, the police are clueless.
Only the Animals premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
