A village in Anatolia, nestling among fields of fields of cane. Ali and his wife are ruled by powerful bosses who share out the revenue from the cane harvest among themselves. Ali resists, but at what cost? The fifth feature film from Cemil Agacikoglu, who is known mainly as a photographer.

Bolvadin, on the high plains of Anatolia. In this remote village set in rugged, inhospitable terrain, Ali and his beloved wife Aysel struggle to make ends meet harvesting cane. Tension mounts when the bosses, who take the lion’s share of the harvest, start to quarrel among themselves. While Aysel seeks to adapt to the new situation, Ali continues to resist the oppression and injustice they suffer.
