Sundance Award Winning Shorts
The Short Film Pool is an initiative by EYE and focuses on the special genre of the short film on a monthly basis. In January, EYE will be screening the winners of the Short Film Jury Awards at the Sundance Festival in 2015. Enjoy the very best from Japan, Ukraine, the US, Poland, France and Russia.
The programme features: SMILF (Jury Award US Fiction, Frankie Shaw, US 9”: about a young single mother); Oh Lucy! (Jury Award International Fiction, Atsuko Hirayanagi, JP/SG 22”: 55-year-old “office lady” discovers her blonde alter ego); The Face of Ukraine: Casting Oksana Baiul (Jury Award Non-Fiction, Kitty Green, RU/UA 7”: young girls competing for the role of Olympic champion figure skating Oksana Baiul in a biopic); Storm Hits Jacket (Jury Award Animation, Paul Cabon, FR 2014 13”: two young scientists in Brittany get caught up in a wild storm, mysterious incidents and espionage); Object (Special Jury Award Visual Poetry, Paulina Skibińska, PL 15”: a creative exploration of an underwater world seen through the eyes of a rescue team) and World of Tomorrow (Short Film Grand Jury Prize, Don Hertzfeldt, US 17”: about a little girl on a psychedelic trip through the distant future).
The Short Film Pool (KFP) started out in 2014 by making available online 250 short films, documentaries and animations. KFP”s short films can be booked and screened by film theatres and cinemas throughout the country.
