Romantic comedy about multimillionaire Jacob (Jeroen van Koningsbrugge) and Anne (Georgina Verbaan) who find themselves falling in love but have just signed a contract that will finish them off.
Multimillionaire Jacob has fallen in love for the first time in his life, with beautiful Anne. At last they”ve found true happiness, but there”s a snag. They”ve just signed a contract with a firm that specializes in finding surprising ways of bumping people off. Simply annulling the contract does not prove to be an option.
The Surprise is Van Diem”s first feature film after having won an Oscar for Karakter (1997) eighteen years ago. In addition to lead actors Jeroen van Koningsbrugge and Georgina Verbaan, the film”s cast includes Jan Decleir and Pierre Bokma.
