You Have to Come and See It
Jonás Trueba / ES, 2022 / 65 min.
Two couples in their thirties engage in heated discussions about the essence of their lives, taking place between Madrid and the adjoining countryside, drenched in melancholy and mild humour.

Jonás Trueba sketches the neuroticism of life in the west in this small-scale but endlessly rich feature film. Two couples meet for a concert and drinks having spent months separated from one another by the corona pandemic and big life events. The two meetings, in winter and in summer, take place in Madrid and in the surrounding countryside. Here, we listen in on their conversations, which subtly reveal their emotional and intellectual lives, personal fears and resentments.
