Esteban Martínez is a legend – a director with an impressive filmography and a turbulent private life peppered with drink, violence and other excesses. From his first marriage, to an actress, he has a daughter – Emilia (Victoria Luengo). When he returns to Spain to make a new film – a historical drama called Desert – he hasn’t seen his daughter in thirty years.
