The Circus
Charles Chaplin / US, 1928 / 72 min.
One of the major classics of the silent film era. Chaplin plays a dorky tramp who falls in love with the daughter of a circus director. He pulls off deadly stunts on the tightrope and gets locked in a cage with a sleeping lion. His ineptitude makes him a huge slapstick hit for the show.

As all the greats from the history of film need revisiting from time to time, distributor Piece of Magic is re-releasing no less than nine (restored) films by the genius Charles Chaplin in international cinemas.
