An improbable but nonetheless true love story: in 1977, a young street artist from Delhi got on his bicycle and embarked upon a journey of more than 10,000 kilometres, in the hope of being reunited with Lotta from Sweden.
PK is a Dalit, an ‘untouchable’: born on the lowest rung of the caste system in India, and predestined for a life of poverty and exclusion. In 1975, the young Indian falls in love with Swedish Lotta. When she returns home, PK jumps on a second-hand bicycle, with hardly any money to his name, embarking upon an epic journey to Sweden with the aim of being reunited with her.

Before The Cycle of Love, you will see the short film Ik fiets met mijn vrouw (5') from 1911 featuring a man cycling through Paris on a tandem with his wife. Part of the Desmet Collection. This film collection is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
