A group of Union Army volunteers are sent to the unknown western frontier during the winter of 1862, a crucial year in the ongoing Civil War. Far away from the front lines, they mainly wait, against the background of the vast, rugged plains – long, lonely, terrifying moments full of unseen threats – during which it is kill or be killed.
