Teenager Olivia has temporarily been put into care, but wants nothing more than to go home to her mother Selma. At the Girla crisis centre she encounters other young people who carry their wounds around with them, just like she does. Very gradually, the new housing situation, shifts her perspective. Every time she goes home, she notices how her mother isn’t your typical mother, but an unpredictable, destructive influence – a friend you’d prefer not to have. Olivia faces a terrible choice: be devoured or finally break free.
