Gaspar Noé / FR, BE, MC, AU, 2021 / 142 min.

A Gaspar Noé film about Alzheimer? The director of Irréversible, Enter the Void and Lux Æterna continues to surprise. Even more unexpected: Dario Argento plays the husband of a psychiatrist with dementia (Françoise Lebrun). The split-screen projection reflects the leads’ separate worlds.

Father is writing a book about the relationship between dreams and cinema; mother, a retired psychiatrist, suffers from dementia and lives in her own world. Their son visits with their grandchild who, as yet, scarcely speaks the language.

Pre-film

Before the screening of Vortex, you can watch Fly, a three-minute Ultrashort film by director Patty Stenger. Margot's daughter decides what's best for her old mother. Until Margot herself takes back control of her life. She is going to die anyway, then rather with love and fun.
