My Name is Peter Stillman
Lysander Ashton / GB, 2017 / 20 min.
New York City, middle of the night. Detective story writer Daniel Quinn receives a call from a Peter Stillman. ‘Are you Paul Auster of the Auster Detective Agency?’ What follows is a jumble of events in this gripping VR experience, inspired by Paul Auster’s debut novel City of Glass from The New York Trilogy. The first episode of Xtended, EYE’s virtual reality programme.

Based on Paul Auster's critically acclaimed novel City of Glass, this VR experience puts the user in the world of Daniel Quinn, a reclusive crime writer who unwittingly becomes the protagonist in a real-life thriller of his own.
Tickets for the four-minute VR experience are €2,50.
As the experience begins we quickly realise that we are in the flat of Peter Stillman and soon the man himself appears in front of us. whilst we listen to the dark and disturbing history of Peter's childhood unfold we slowly realise that not all is as it seems, is that Peter in front of us or simply a mirroring of our own reflection? In a story about identity, My Name is Peter Stillman makes us question who we really are in this fragile world.
