A Page of Madness

Teinosuke Kinugasa / JP, 1926 / 60 min.

Based on a short story by the Japanese writer Yasunari Kawabata, this film depicts the delusions of an institutionalized woman. The rarely screened film, which has been hailed as the Oriental equivalent of Robert Wiene’s Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari, is part of EYE’s Japan programme which runs until December.
