Struggling to fulfill the multiple roles of mother, housewife and spouse, Mabel hovers on the edge of madness. Great acting performances by Gena Rowlands and Peter Falk, Rowlands was nominated for an Oscar.

Eye shows two restored 35mm films from the collection, A Woman Under the Influence (1974), with Gena Rowlands as a neurotic, alcoholic housewife and the noir thriller The Killing of a Chinese Bookie, with a brilliant leading role from Cassavetes regular Ben Gazarra.
