In Aferim! - literally: Bravo! – policeman Costandin and his adolescent son are told to hunt down an escaped slave worker. Radu Jude’s film reveals an episode in European history that never made it to history books in the West. On Roma people kept in slavery in the principality of Wallachia in the 1830s.

Director Radu Jude will be present at the screening of Aferim! on 11 January for a Q&A with film journalist Andrei Gorzo.
