Amsterdam Forever Young: Amsterdams Stadsjournaal
Special about the Amsterdams Stadsjournaal [Amsterdam city news], a filmmakers' collective that , between 1974 and 1984, created socially-committed documentaries about social themes in the capital and elsewhere.
These 16mm activist films were screened at a group of cinemas, community and youth centres. Eye is restoring these films in cooperation with Stadsarchief Amsterdam, which will be organising an exhibition on the progressive collective behind the films from 11 October 2025 through 8 March 2026. Eye curator Rommy Albers will provide an introduction to Privé-eigendom en misdaad (1974) and Politiewerk (1978).
