Amsterdam Forever Young
27 October 2024 — 30 October 2025
From the Vondelpark in summer to the red glow of the Wallen, Amsterdam never fails to spark the imagination.
From its earliest beginnings, multicultural, visually attractive Amsterdam has been a source of inspiration to artists. Filmmakers also discovered the city’s photogenic qualities early on.
Everyone knows them: the classics featuring the iconic canals as the atmospheric backdrop to a romantic love affair, or where a body or monster emerges from their murky depths.
Every month Eye offers a new look at films set in Amsterdam.
Sometimes in the form of a Cinema Concert, sometimes a young maker showing a short film of their own about Amsterdam and picking a film from the Eye collection that complements this in terms of content or feel. For each theme we create a special, with up-and-coming and well-known makers and other guests entering into conversation with the audience, interspersed with film clips and short films.
