Science fiction film and romantic tragicomedy from master of style Wes Anderson that follows, in pastel shades, the spectacular events at an annual Junior Stargazer convention in 1955. Asteroid City is set around 1955 in a fictional American small town in the desert, where schoolchildren and their parents gather from all over the country for a convention. Its aim: "comradeship and scientific competition, peace and recreation" for young Stargazers and Space Cadets. Little did they know… The meeting is spectacularly disrupted by events that are nothing less than earthshattering. The Hollywood Reporter described the film as “a poetic meditation on the meaning of life”.

'Baroque acting' is how Tilda Swinton described her performances in the five films she made with Wes Anderson: The Grand Budapest Hotel, The French Dispatch, Asteroid City, Isle of Dogs and Moonrise Kingdom.
