Summer of 1965: besotted teenagers Sam (Jared Gilman) and Suzy (Kara Hayward) run away from home, turning the usually peaceful routine of life on an American East Coast island upside down. The whole community turns out to try and find the young couple: from the local Scout troop, of which Sam is a member, led by Scoutmaster Ward (Edward Norton) to the sullen sheriff Sharp (Bruce Willis), who’s involved in a secret affair with Suzy’s mother (Frances McDormand).
