This documentary, which was shot over a period of five years, follows the highs and lows in the life and work of music legend Rudy Plaate. The documentary combines a wealth of archival material with interviews with Plaate’s relatives, friends and other music aficionados. De Wind was able to meet with Plaate freely, and painted an intimate portrait of Plaate’s life and his coming to terms with his dementia.
